We jumped headlong into the 2009 NC Brunswick County Parade of Homes with gusto by entering not one, but two custom homes. Both entries were custom homes in the gated community of Ocean Ridge Plantation.
Villa Toscana was an Italian themed home set on Tiger’s Eye Golf Links. The covered porch on the upper rear deck had sweeping views of holes 7, 15 and 16 of Tiger’s Eye. To say we had problems getting visitors to leave would be an understatement. We were simply humbled by the hundreds who came through with their myriad of wonderful compliments.
Our other home this year was a coastal cottage promise finally delivered by a husband to his dear wife. Sitting in the middle of Panther’s Run Golf Links, Hemingway’s Cottage felt like it was right off the pages of a Pottery Barn or Restoration Hardware catalog. This home was described as cozy, comfortable and just perfect. What a great surprise it was when, not one, but both homes were announced as winners.
Hemingway’s Cottage was announce as the first place Diamond Award winner in the $500,000 to $750,000 price category of all single family homes. Then to our delight, Villa Toscana won the first place Diamond Award for single family homes in the $750,000 to $1 million category. So with two custom homes we swept the $500,000 to $1 million price range of all single family homes in the Brunswick County Parade of Homes.
